Woodlands Villages We Move Every Month

We move families in and out of every village of The Woodlands, including:

  • Alden Bridge (77382) — the largest village, between Research Forest Drive and Kuykendahl Road
  • Sterling Ridge (77382) — along Woodlands Parkway west of Kuykendahl, including the gated Carlton Woods
  • Grogan’s Mill (77380) — the original village, along Grogans Mill Road next to Town Center
  • Town Center, Hughes Landing and East Shore (77380) — apartments, condos and high-rises on The Woodlands Waterway and Lake Woodlands
  • College Park (77384) — north of Research Forest along FM 1488, near Lone Star College–Montgomery
  • Panther Creek (77381) — on the south shore of Lake Woodlands
  • Cochran’s Crossing (77381) — off Research Forest Drive, north of Lake Woodlands
  • Indian Springs (77381 and 77382) — south of Woodlands Parkway, west of Panther Creek
  • Creekside Park (77389) — the Harris County village west of Gosling Road, zoned to Tomball ISD
  • Harper’s Landing (77385) — the one village east of I-45

We also move within The Woodlands, for example from a Grogan’s Mill starter home to Creekside Park or from a Town Center apartment to Alden Bridge. The Woodlands Township covenants and many village associations set truck parking rules and limit how long a container can sit in the driveway, and gated sections such as Carlton Woods and East Shore need your movers on the gate list. Send us your rules and your moving consultant plans the day around them.

Moving in The Woodlands: What Our Crews Plan For

A Woodlands move has a few wrinkles that catch movers from outside the area. Ours plan for them:

  • Township Covenants and Gated Villages

The Woodlands Township covenants and many village associations set truck parking rules and limit how long a container can sit in the driveway. Gated sections such as Carlton Woods and East Shore need your movers on the gate list. Send us your rules and your moving consultant plans the day around them.

  • Town Center and Hughes Landing High-Rises

Waterway apartments, condos and high-rises need a loading-dock or elevator reservation and usually a certificate of insurance from your mover. Reserve the elevator when you book and we will send the certificate your building asks for.

  • I-45, Woodlands Parkway and Research Forest Traffic

Our trucks come up Beltway 8 and I-45, or SH 249 and the Grand Parkway for Creekside Park and the west side. We plan around I-45 rush hour and use the Hardy Toll Road when it is faster.

  • Heat, Humidity and Summer Storms

Summer heat and sudden rain are normal here. We wrap furniture, protect floors and keep electronics and artwork out of the weather on every move.

  • School Calendars

Most of The Woodlands is Conroe ISD; Creekside Park is Tomball ISD. Summer and month-end Saturdays fill first, so book 2 to 4 weeks ahead if you are moving around the school year.

Tips for Your Woodlands Move

  • Book 2 to 4 weeks ahead. Summer and month-end Saturdays fill first.
  • Reserve the elevator. Town Center, Hughes Landing and Waterway buildings need a loading-dock or elevator reservation and usually a certificate of insurance from your mover. Ask us for ours when you book.
  • Check your school district. Most of The Woodlands is Conroe ISD; Creekside Park is Tomball ISD.
  • Get covenant and gate approval early. Send your village association your move date and truck details, and add Blue Ox to the gate list in Carlton Woods, East Shore and other gated sections.
  • Plan for weather. Summer heat and sudden rain are common. We wrap furniture and protect floors on every move.

Getting to The Woodlands

Our trucks leave our warehouse at 6355 Clara Rd in northwest Houston, about 35 miles from Town Center. We reach The Woodlands by Beltway 8 and I-45 north, or by SH 249 and the Grand Parkway (SH 99) for Creekside Park and the west side. We plan around I-45 rush hour and use the Hardy Toll Road when it is faster.

Every local Houston move includes a 1-hour trip charge at your crew’s hourly rate. There is no separate fuel charge.

My daughter moved to a new apartment on Friday, 7/31/26. I was at her old place to greet the three gentlemen who arrived to help us with her move. The three were absolutely perfect. They made the move such a delight and I had fun talking to them while they were working. They were extremely fast and so careful with all of her possessions. We will definitely be calling Blue Ox Moving & Storage in the future!

They did a really good job of moving my home from Katy to the other part of Katy. Nothing got broken and they were polite and courteous. Definitely one of the better experiences I’ve had with a moving company and pricing was fair. James was great for work with and even let us borrow tools and step ladder as we had those packed away.
